Jimin
Jin led those three to the bathroom and to probably give them some new, clean clothes. I looked at Alina who was still lying in my arms. I smiled as I gently caressed her face, hoping she’d wake up soon.
‘I’ll go prepare her some coffee,’ Yoongi muttered quietly as he headed towards the kitchen. Even if he was not showing it, he was worried about her. We all knew it was normal for her to be like this after using her healing power, especially on two wolves and against silver but we still worried. None of us liked seeing her weak or vulnerable.
‘Chim, why don’t you put her on the couch? We need to get rid of that carpet since it’s stained with blood,’ Namjoon said. I nodded as I carefully picked her up and put her on the couch. I sat down next to her, placing her head on my lap.
Namjoon and Hoseok rolled the carpet and took it outside just as she began to stir. ‘Hey baby,’ I whispered to her.
‘Hmm,’ she groaned as she squeezed her eyes. I frowned a little, hating to see her so weak, yet knowing it needed to be done. I felt proud of her – proud that this amazing, strong woman was my mate. Proud that she used her powers for good. Proud of her strength and heart.
‘Take your time love,’ I said as she began to sit up. She groaned one more time before she was finally sitting properly. ‘How are you feeling?’ I asked.
‘Tired but good,’ she said as she gave me a warm smile. ‘Are they okay?’ she asked and I nodded.
‘Yes, they’re fine. Jin took them to the bathroom and is probably preparing some clothes for them,’ I explained and she hummed in response.
‘You did really good princess,’ Taehyung commented as she gave him a small smile. He came and sat down on the couch, taking her hand in his own. He brought it to his mouth, kissing her fingers. ‘Really good,’ he repeated as she smiled, a small blush creeping on her face.
‘I’m just doing my part,’ she said. ‘Was it hunters?’ she asked and Taehyung nodded. Yoongi walked back in with a steaming hot coffee and instantly she smiled.
‘Here you go love. Drink slowly, it’s hot,’ Yoongi warned her as he handed her the mug. She took it and closed her eyes as she took a sip. She opened her eyes and smiled at Yoongi.
‘It’s good. Thank you,’ she said while Yoongi just nodded while he sat on the ground. More footsteps approached as everyone started to sit down except for Junsu.
‘Yuri and I are going to go clean up the area. Can you watch the twins? They shouldn’t be much trouble since they’re sleeping,’ Junsu said.
‘It’s okay. I’ll keep watch over them. Don’t worry,’ I quickly volunteered. I saw Taehyung smile fondly since he knew how much I loved children. I honestly could not wait until we have our own pups.
‘Will you be okay just the two of you? What if it’s not safe?’ Alina asked, worried.
‘I can come with you,’ Namjoon offered but Junsu shook his head.
‘No, it’s fine Joon. You guys need to figure things out here,’ Junsu said.
‘Don’t worry. We’ll be fine, you know us,’ Yuri said with a wink to which we all smiled. Namjoon nodded as the two of them left the house and we turned to the others.
‘We didn’t even do introductions, sorry about that,’ Alina said as she scratched the back of her neck. The three of them smiled as they all bowed their heads slightly.
‘Please, don’t apologize,’ the male said. ‘My name is Kai. This is my mate Moonbyul and her little sister, Lily,’ Kai said, motioning for each of them.
‘Thank you for saving me and my unnie,’ Lily said. Alina just smiled at her and waved, shrugging it off.
‘Just doing my job sweetie. How old are you?’ Alina asked, trying to make the girl feel more comfortable.
‘Thirteen,’ Lily replied with a smile. ‘You’re really beautiful, especially when that white light comes out,’ Lily said, her smile big.
‘Thank you. It’s called Lux magic which is Latin for light magic because it is used to do good,’ Alina explained. Lily’s eyes went wide while Alina continued to smile.
‘Maybe we should introduce ourselves too,’ Namjoon said. ‘My name is Namjoon. I’m kind of the leader of the pack. The two that left are Junsu and Yuri, two members of the pack,’ Namjoon began.
‘I’m Taehyung. These are Jin, Yoongi, Jungkook, Hoseok and Jimin,’ Taehyung began before he turned to Alina. ‘That’s our mate, Alina. She’s the only healer,’ he said proudly.
‘It’s an absolute honour to meet you,’ Kai said. ‘Thank you once again for saving us back there,’ he said.
‘We have to protect our own from those * hunters,’ Yoongi said, anger lacing his voice. I felt that anger myself as I recalled how the young girl was brought here.
‘What happened? I know it’s still new and fresh but we need to know so we can figure things out,’ Namjoon said. Moonbyul and Kai both look at each other as Kai took her hand in his and nodded at her.
‘You deserve to know,’ Moonbyul said with a small smile. ‘The three of us ran away from our pack,’ Moonbyul said with almost a sense of shame and embarrassment.
‘Hey, that’s okay. You don’t need to be ashamed about it,’ I said and Taehyung nodded.
‘The truth is, we met because we’re all either orphaned, runaways or been kicked out of the pack,’ Taehyung explained. Moonbyul and Kai both seemed to relax at that.
‘Truth is, Kai is my mate but my father did not like it because Kai is a Delta. He did not want to accept it and was going to force me to mate with a stronger wolf,’ Moonbyul said.
‘That’s terrible!’ exclaimed Jungkook, looking completely appalled by the idea. I could not blame him because the thought of it made my stomach churn.
The soulmate bond is something sacred for all supernatural creatures, but even more so for wolves. Every supernatural creature has a soulmate or more waiting for them. There is an indescribable bond between the mates which is even stronger for wolves. We feel each other’s emotions – good and bad. We feel if our mate is angry or sad or happy or anxious. We feel each other’s pain whether it’s physical or emotional. We become stronger together, almost as if we gather energy from one another. We are overprotective over one another, especially the male over the female and even more so if the female is pregnant or if there are pups.
Yet, the soulmate bond can also create unimaginable pain. If a soulmate gets rejected, he or she will feel a pain like no other. It’s often described like getting your heart ripped out of your chest. The soulmate becomes weaker, easier to be killed or get sick. If a soulmate dies, there is a lot of heartbreak too, one that you can barely recover from, even if you do survive.
‘How could he just force you to do that? It’s insane. It’s not like it won’t hurt you too,’ Hoseok mumbled but Moonbyul just smiled sadly.
‘He didn’t care about me. or my sister My father only cared about the pack and his loyalty to the Alpha. So, Kai, Lily and I ran away,’ she explained.
‘Were you…’ Jin began, attracting all the attention on him. He looked almost as if he was confused. ‘Were you in the Moonlit pack?’ he asked. I gasped slightly, hearing the name of the old pack.
The three of them looked at each other before nodding. ‘Yes… you were a member too?’ Kai asked as Jin nodded. Kai studied him before his eyes went wide. ‘Seokjin?’ he asked.
‘Dammit! I thought you looked familiar,’ Jin said as the two males hugged each other. I looked at Moonbyul who had tears running down her cheeks before she turned to Jin. Jin sighed as he cupped her face and hugged her. ‘I thought I’d never see you again Moonie,’ he whispered, but loud enough for us to hear.
We waited until they settled back down but somehow the air had gotten lighter. ‘So you were in the same pack?’ Yoongi asked, an amused smile on his face.
‘Yeah. Moonie and I used to play together all the time. We used to get into trouble together but I haven’t seen her since I was a teenager and ran away,’ Jin explained.
‘Wow! Talk about coincidence,’ I said, still smiling. ‘It’s good that you got to meet again, even if it’s not under the best circumstances,’ I added.
‘Yeah. What even happened? How did you get mixed with the hunters?’ Jin asked.
‘We were passing through. I didn’t see the trap and these two *s didn’t want to leave,’ Moonbyul said.
‘Leave no member behind. That was always our motto and it was never going to change,’ Kai said stubbornly.
‘Anyways, we were trying to get out of it, or rather, get me out of it but it was made of silver. Our hands burned when we tried to touch it and the more we struggled, the deeper it got in,’ Moonbyul explained.
‘Then the hunters came. They surrounded us and they just… they just shot Lily,’ Kai said, his voice cracking.
‘Well, they’re dead now so you don’t have to worry about them,’ Taehyung said a certain glint in his eyes.
‘And I can also offer lodgings. I own some land which is private property. The idea is that it goes to help rogue wolves from hunters,’ Alina said.
‘We would be more than happy to have you join our pack. We would love nothing more than to see it grow,’ Taehyung said.
‘Taehyungie is right. We’ll be more than happy to have you join us and we can protect each other and help other wolves in need,’ Namjoon said.
‘Wow. That would be incredible. We’ve been on our own, always hunted for so long,’ Moonbyul said.
‘This would mean we’d get an actual bed and shower?’ Lily asked with a huge grin. Alina smiled as she nodded.
‘Yes and your very own room and clothes and everything you might need, I can get you,’ Alina said with a reassurance.
‘We only ask that you treat Alina as the Luna. She might not be a wolf, but she is our mate,’ Taehyung said.
‘Of course,’ Kai and Moonbyul both said at the very same time. Alina blushed slightly and I could not help but smile along with her.
‘Well, we can talk about all that and house arrangement later. Jin, Yoongi, why don’t you help me to prepare them some food? I bet they’re hungry,’ Alina said.
‘Famished,’ Lily quickly send, only to earn a slight smack from her older sister. I chuckled as I saw Lily giggling quietly to herself.
‘Then let’s start preparing some delicious food. You’ll never feel hungry again here, we promise,’ Yoongi said as he offered his hand to Lily.
I felt my heart burst with warmth as I watched them walk into the kitchen while we also walked towards there. Somehow, our pack continued to grow and I had a feeling it would only grow even more.
